SUMMARY:En 1854, nace Hertha Marks Ayrton. Fue ingeniera, matemática, física e inventora británica. Se convirtió en la primera mujer que leía un documento científico propio en la Institution of Electrical Engineers. Recibió la Medalla Hughes de la Royal Society por su trabajo sobre arcos eléctricos y ondulaciones en arena y agua, aunque no le permitieron exponer personalmente su trabajo ni la admitieron como socia. Registró 8 patentes, una de ellas, las lámparas que se utilizarían para los proyectores de cine.
