SUMMARY:En 1958, se pone en órbita terrestre el primer satélite artificial estadounidense, el Explorer 1. Para ello fue clave Mary Sherman Morgan, que inventó un tipo de combustible llamado Hydyne. Sherman consiguió ser la líder técnica de la investigación y marcar un antes y un después, a pesar de ser la única mujer entre 900 ingenieros y la única sin una carrera universitaria.
